Flight Test 2
Half and half test flights, with manual take offs and landings with full autopilot for the main portion of the flight.
To measure the reliability of the autopilot system and to improve confidence in the system's ability to control the aircraft.
One test flight was completed with a manual take off and landing and full autopilot for the majority of the flight. This was then repeated with a slightly larger loop. A team member was on hand to ensure a safe manual landing if the autopilot failed at any point.
The first test was successful, but the second test resulted in the aircraft crashing into some trees. This is likely an issue with the flight controller not compensating for the limitation of the bank angle and it is now being looked into further.
